The Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria , CIBN has assembled experts to examine the impact of social and environmental risks on the Management of banks and other financial institutions at a workshop scheduled from Thursday, July 26 to Friday, July 27, at the Bankers’ House, PC 19, Adeola Hopewell Street , Victoria Island, Lagos , at 9.00 am.
Key objectives of the workshop are to enable participants to
· identify and understand emerging issues in Social and Environmental Risks;
· appreciate the role of Regulators in protecting and preventing financial institutions against Social and Environmental Risks;
· develop strategies and tools to detect,
· evaluate and mitigate Social and Environmental Risks; and
· promote the efficient use of Social and Environmental Risk analysis in banking practice among others.
Top of the list of issues which participants will examine include Social and Environmental Risks Management: An Overview; The Role of Regulators in Protecting and Preventing Financial Institutions against Social and Environmental Risks; Measuring and Evaluating Social and Environmental Risks in Bank Lending and Other Banking Businesses; The Challenges of Human Factor in Social and Environmental Risk Management; Social and Environmental Risks Governance, etc.
The workshop is expected to attract Risk Managers and Analysts working in Financial Institutions; Heads of Compliance, Operations and Internal Control Departments in Banks and Other Financial Institutions; Financial Consultants, Auditing Firms and Agencies.
