Vitafoam Nigeria Plc has notified The Exchange that at its Board of Directors’ meeting held on Thursday, July 26, 2012, the Board appointed Mr. Joel Olatoye Ajiga as the MD/CEO of the company with effect from October 1, 2012. The Board also appointed Taiwo Ayodele Adeniji as an Executive Director which was effective July 26, 2012.

Mr. Ajiga replaces Dr. B. O. Makanjuola who will be retiring from the office of the MD with effect from September 30, 2012, after years of meritorious service to the company.

Ajiga, born 52 years ago, is a graduate of Chemical Engineering with Second Class Upper Division from the University of Benin, Benin City, Edo State. He attended courses on Executive programs at Lagos Business School, Lagos and McDonough School of Business, Georgetown University, Washington DC, USA.

He started his working experience at Bode Foam Industries Limited Ibadan, as a production Manager (1987-1988). He later joined Art-Technology Designs Limited as the company’s Chemical Engineer. In 1991, Ajiga joined Vitafoam Nigeria Plc as the Company’s Production Manager (1991 – 1999). He held several other management positions at various branches of the company within Nigeria between 1999 and 2008. In 2010, he became a Non-Executive Director of Vono Products Plc, a position held, until this appointment.

Engineer Ajiga is a Nigerian and is married.

Ayodele has a Masters’ Degree in Chemistry (University of Lagos), having obtained his BSc. in Chemistry Degree in the same University. He also has another Master’s Degree in Supply Engineering and Logistics (University of Warwick, United Kingdom).

He started working as a Quality Assurance Analyst with Pharma Deko Plc in July, 1998. While at Pharma Deko Plc, he occupied several senior managerial positions. He also worked at Warwic (Coventry, United Kingdom) as an Academic Teaching Assistant in 2006. Ayodele joined Vitafoam Nigeria Plc as a Logistics Manager in 2007 and until this appointment he was the Manufacturing Manager a position he assumed since February, 2010.
