Companies in the NEWS Today – Vitafoam Plc and Consolidated Hallmark Insurance Plc

VITAFOAM of Nigeria Plc has invested over N2 billion into capacity expansion of its plants across the nation in the last five years. The company made this known yesterday at a media briefing on its golden jubilee celebration, which commenced with anniversary promo in June.

Vitafoam share price recorded +19.73% gains in 2008 while it went down by -80.85% in 2009. It further went down by -20.93% gains in 2010. The stock sheds -26.47% in 2011 while it further went down by -30.04% in 2012.

Consolidated Hallmark Insurance Plc, an underwriting firm, has emerged the overall winner in the insurance category of the 2012 Web Jurist Award of Phillip Consulting, a premium consultant for companies and financial services firms. The company’s Awards from Web Jurists is coming on the heels of the company’s recent huge investment in the upgrade of its website, enabling a seamless online transaction platform in synch with the web based operations application being used for technical, accounting and HR operations.

The insurance outfit share recorded -44.85% and -53.27% in 2008 and 2009 respectively while it closed flat in 2010 and 2011. The stock price remained unchanged in 2012 as it currently trades at 50k nominal value. The outfit recorded negative growths in its Q1 2012 results.
